🌟 What an incredible day for Mrs. Eures’ Annex students! 🌟 Today, they proudly participated in the 2025 Special Olympics Florida Law Enforcement Torch Run. The students walked down Main Street Wauchula, making their way to Heritage Park, showing their strength, spirit, and teamwork. 💪 After the walk, everyone gathered for a well-deserved lunch, and each participant received a medal from Sheriff Vent Crawford as a symbol of their hard work and dedication. 🏅 A huge congratulations to all the students for their amazing efforts today! You are all champions! 🙌💙

🎨🐟 Our students have been diving deep into the world of creativity! Using their knowledge of patterns, they applied their skills to create stunning paper mache fish sculptures. 🐠💡 They researched different fish species, learning about their unique shapes and colors, then brought them to life using recycled materials! 🌊

🍓🌟 Field Trip Fun at Sunny Sweet Farms! 🌟🍓 On Tuesday, Mrs. Eures' Annex students had an amazing time picking fresh strawberries at Sunny Sweet Farms in Ft Green! 🍓🌱 Owner Robbie Abbott gave them a fantastic tour, explaining how the berries are planted, grown, and harvested, and even helped the students pick their own delicious strawberries. 🍓✨ The adventure ended with exciting tractor rides around the fields 🚜, and as a special treat, Mr. Abbott generously donated fresh strawberries to the school! 🍓❤️ The whole staff will be enjoying some sweet Strawberry Shortcake this Friday for Valentine’s Day! 🍓🍰💕

Keep up the amazing effort – we are so proud of you!

Mrs. Elizabeth Jaquez, a dedicated and hardworking member of the HJH family, is currently battling cancer while continuing to work through her chemotherapy treatments and doctor's appointments. Known for her unwavering commitment to the students and for going above and beyond, she often works late and on weekends to ensure everything is done. To support her during this challenging time, a SURPRISE Potato Bar Fundraiser was held on Thursday, December 19th, during staff lunches. All proceeds benefit Mrs. Jaquez’s fight against cancer. Additionally, teachers took part in a Chili Cook-Off. There were six chili entries from both HJH and HES, each assigned a number and placed in unmarked containers to ensure anonymity. Judges, including Hilltop and HJH administrators, as well as Mr. Stevenson, head of the HJH Que Team (BBQ Team), were also assigned numbers for their score sheets. The competition focused on key criteria: taste, texture, color, aroma, and aftertaste, with a unique recipe being valued alongside excellent flavor. Prizes included a ribbon, $75, $50, and $25 gift cards, and a chef's hat. Once judged, the chili was served at the event and enjoyed by Hilltop and HJH faculty and staff. Winners of the Chili Cook-Off were Erica England (1st), Veronica Noel (2nd), and Michelle Shepard (3rd). A large sign with an inspirational message for Mrs. Jaquez was displayed in the media center, where everyone stopped by and added their note of support. This fundraiser and event served as a heartfelt opportunity to show appreciation for everything Mrs. Jaquez has contributed to HJH, highlighting the love and support she has from her colleagues during her courageous battle.
