FAST Timeline

Students and teachers at HJH participated in the first administration of the newly implemented progress monitoring assessment during the week of September 6th. Every student tested during this first week will have a paper copy of their reading and math test reports sent home the week of September 12th. Make-up testing for HJH students will be held the week of September 12th with these student reports being sent home the following week. There will be little information on this first report because the PM 1 assessment is designed to gain a baseline for teachers and students. After the administration of PM 2 teachers and students will be able to view comparative data from PM 1 to PM 2 that assesses a student's progress in learning the B.E.S.T. standards. Parents and students can expect to see a scale score on their report that correlates to an overall achievement level ranging from 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest achievement level.

F.A.S.T. Achievement Levels
1- Inadequate:  Highly likely to need substantial support for the next grade/course
2- Below Satisfactory:  Likely to need substantial support for the next grade/ course
3- On Grade Level:  May need additional support for the next grade/ course
4- Proficient:  Likely to excel in the next grade/ course
5- Mastery:  Highly likely to excel in the next grade/ course

The scores reported are not indicative of how a student will perform on the final assessment PM 3. Instead, these reports are for informational purposes only and are used by teachers to identify areas of need to help drive instructional goals. The PM 2 assessment will be administered in early December allowing teachers time to adjust their learning goals and instructional paths for students before the final assessment of PM 3. For more information parents and students can visit the school website and view the FLDOE document titled: Understanding FAST Reports for Families by clicking on the menu and then documents. Reminders about testing in December will be sent out via Remind, HJH Facebook, and the school website.
