Student with Science of Me poster

Students in Mrs. Ford's 6th grade Science classes completed 'The Science of Me' projects recently. Students were tasked with researching information about themselves, like what the moon phase was on the day they were born, and sharing what their favorite learned behavior was. The activity helps students to learn more about themselves and their relationships with science. For example, what is their favorite energy source? More importantly, activities like these help students to make connections with their home life and school. Parents and guardians are able to see their children apply knowledge gained in class and students then use their creativity to show what they have learned. Mrs. Ford shared, that students presented their projects in class and then were able to take a Gallery Walker around the classroom to learn more about their classmates. "The Science of Me" project is an annual project completed in Mrs. Ford's class and has proven to be quite popular with students and staff.
