Our STEM students wrapped up months of learning about forensics with an exciting hands-on field trip experience at Hardee Lakes! Since January, students have been exploring the science behind crime scene investigation, and on March 13th they had the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned in a real-world setting. ![]()

A huge thank you to the Hardee County Sheriff’s Office for helping make this workshop possible. Students learned from members of the patrol unit, K9 team, drone team, investigative unit, and even the snow cone response team!
We are also incredibly grateful to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) for bringing their crime scene van and providing students with an authentic, hands-on look at forensic investigation.
This fun event and all the forensic supplies were made possible through a Grow Innovation Grant provided by the Hardee Education Foundation.
It was an amazing day of learning, collaboration, and real-world STEM in action!
