Heartland Regional Science Fair Participants

On Wednesday, February 7th, fourteen Hardee Junior High students attended the annual Heartland Regional Science Fair at South Florida State College. The fourteen students presented their science fair projects for a chance to compete at the state level. Students were interviewed by two judges and had an opportunity to share additional information about their projects. The following sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade students represented Hardee Junior High School; Caroline Cornell, Anderson Gray, Natalie Hines, Allyson Johnson, Lainey Johnson, Violet Johnson, Layla King, Bella Medina, Brielle Medina, Jurnee Myers, Amari Prieto, Ross Rivas, Rylan Smith, Ethan Southwell.


The following students received a first-place blue ribbon in the chemistry category: Caroline Cornel and  Layla King. Second-place red ribbon winners in the chemistry category are Brielle Medina, Ross Rivas, and Ethan Southwell. Jurnee Myers received a third-place white ribbon. The following students received a first-place ribbon in the plant science category: Anderson Gray and Lainey Kate Johnson. Rylan Smith received a second-place ribbon for his project. Amari Prieto and Natalie Hines received third-place white ribbons in the category.

Can You "C" Time?, Lainey Kate Johnson- 

Does the pH level in soil affect the growth of Imperata cylindrica (Cogon grass)?, and Layla King- 

Electrolyte Time! Hardee Junior High School would like to congatulate these students for their outstanding performance and for representing HJH at the Heartland and state levels.
