Student pumpkind displayed on the counter.

Students in Judith Zamora's 6th grade art class created clay pumpkins inspired by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. They were able to demonstrate how to create a form using clay techniques and also showed contrast through their color choices. Students used the pinch pot method of clay building along with surface treatment techniques to create different pumpkin shapes. In addition, students were encouraged to expand their creativity and make their pumpkins more personalized by adding an additional clay attachment to them. Judith Zamora says, "From baby pumpkins to bugs and sombreros, these students really outdid themselves by thinking outside the box."
