A huge shoutout to our junior high scientists for crushing the Science of Me project! They've proven that science isn't just in a textbook—it's everywhere, even in their own lives.
From calculating the moon phase on their birthday to analyzing their favorite energy sources and even detailing their learned behaviors, these students have connected personal facts to scientific principles in amazing ways.
The presentations and the Gallery Walk were fantastic! We loved seeing everyone learn more about their classmates through a scientific lens. Great job, everyone!

We look forward to a fantastic year working with you to make our school even better. Congratulations!

Our 6th-grade scientists were busy exploring chemical weathering in the lab this week. 🌎🔬 From breaking down rocks to seeing science in action, they’re learning how Earth is always changing! 💡💥

Our Wildcats modeled the layers of the Earth using chalk and salt 🧂🖍️. Each layer showed the different thicknesses—from the thin crust we live on, all the way down to the deep inner core! 🔥💡
Hands-on learning = deeper understanding (and a little fun too 😄). Great job, scientists in the making! 🐾💙🧡

Sept 19 - There will be no school for students on that day. It is a professional day for teachers.

There will be NO SCHOOL on Friday, September 19th due to a Teacher In-Service Day.
Enjoy the long weekend, and we’ll see our students back in class on Monday, September 22nd! ✨📚

Our students completed a hands-on simulation about surplus food and job specialization today! Each student started with a bag of Skittles, representing food. Once there was enough surplus, they divided their Skittles into colors to represent different jobs:
❤️ Builders
💜 Pottery Makers
💚 Farmers
🧡 Merchants
💛 Weavers
They quickly discovered that having too many of one job (and not enough of another) meant that trading job specialties was necessary for the community to thrive—just like in early civilizations! 🌍
What a fun (and tasty) way to see history come alive in the classroom! 🎉

Parents & Guardians—don’t forget! ✨
📅 Dedication pages are due Friday, November 21, 2025!
📄 A paper with all the details went home two weeks ago.
🖊️ Need another copy? Grab one from the front office or see Ms. Knight in Room 402.
Let’s make this year’s yearbook unforgettable for our amazing 8th graders! 🎉💙🧡

🌟 Teacher of the Month: Mrs. Amy Bryan
🌟 8th Grade Student of the Month: Jurnee Myers
🌟 7th Grade Student of the Month: Alyana Jackson
🌟 6th Grade Student of the Month: Lane Cochran
We are so proud of these Wildcats for their hard work, dedication, and positive example on campus! 🐾💙🧡
Check out their photos below and help us celebrate them in the comments! 🎊📸
