Today, our lab became a science kitchen as we explored the difference between mixtures, solutions, and colloids!
Our star of the day? Slime! ✨ Slime is a classic example of a colloid: a special mixture where tiny, insoluble particles are evenly dispersed throughout another substance.
Think of it this way:
Solution (like sugar water) → Particles are too small to see; it's transparent.
Colloid (like slime, or milk!) → Particles are big enough to scatter light and make it look cloudy/opaque, but small enough to stay suspended.
Our students nailed this concept (and didn't make too much of a mess!). Stay tuned for more science adventures! 🚀

The team provided "the works"—including free oil changes and tire rotations—as a thank you to everyone working hard here. We are so grateful for this amazing community partnership!
Thank you, Bill Jarrett Ford! 🙏
